And now the reason I am writing is to let you know that overnight, my plans have changed… or I should say EXPANDED. If you have been following my blog, you know that I frequently take children home with me if they are critically ill or recovering from surgery, or if for some reason they need more intensive care. I have been doing this in a very small space while renting a room in someone else’s apartment. It has always been a need to have a larger space if I plan to continue taking the most fragile children home with me. We have all been praying for God to open the door for a home or apartment space. This morning I found out that an apartment is available in the building I have been living in and because apartments or homes for rent are very difficult to come by, I took a leap of faith and told them to reserve it.
I will live there with Cassie, another full time volunteer. Together, we will continue to care for the most fragile and critical children in our apartment. I will still be working daily with the other children at the main SCH home. I plan to work a schedule that will allow me to be with the children in my apartment in the mornings, evenings, and nighttime and then to be at SCH during the day with our other children, handling the needs there. Of course, we will need to hire staff for the apartment to help with nursing and overall care of the children staying there and my monthly bills will greatly increase … but, having this space to provide more individualized care for these fragile children is a tremendous step forward and they are so worth it!
Sarah already has the monumental task of raising the funds to cover the overall running of the ministry so I am now working toward raising the funds not only for my own needs, but also the funds it will take to set up and maintain an apartment to care for these fragile children. The biggest expense will be the start up costs.
We will be starting at ground zero, needing everything except for the Indian cot I already have to sleep on. A refrigerator, air conditioner, gas top to cook on, dishes, pots and pans, a couple of cribs, vinyl covered mattresses for the children to sleep on… just anything and everything you can imagine you would need to set up a home. Cassie and I will be sharing the cost for rent and electricity but it will still be much higher than I was paying before. The benefit to the children we will be caring for, far outweighs the increased financial need.
I am telling you this because I really need your help to make this happen. Would you consider helping me with either a one-time donation or a monthly partnership?
And now I would like for you to meet four of the new precious ones who will need our immediate intensive care… Emma, Margaret, Jamila, and Max. They are indeed PRECIOUS in HIS SIGHT!

So glad you are safely there. How is Emma?
